Admiral Adah sat in his favorite chair in his quarters. A Sasser class vessel was always David's favorite. Sizably smaller than the galaxy class with the same overall shape, which means easier to fly about but less space to pack. This particular ship, the USS Longsword was already a close match for the galaxy class but having a few upgrades, it would now outlast the galaxy standard vessel. David loved this lady.
He sipped his tea and released a happy sigh.
[beep] "Admiral, this is the bridge."
Ugh! David closed his eyes for a moment. It never fails, he thought as he tapped his communicator badge. "This is Adah, go ahead."
"Sir, Cargo Bay two reports that all transfers are complete and the bay is secure."
David relaxed a little. That was good news. Soon we can be underway and do what we should be doing. "Thank you bridge. Has my new security chief beamed aboard yet?"
"Negative Admiral."
"Very well. When he does have him escorted to the observation lounge for a briefing."
"Aye sir!" came the reply, followed by a closing of the channel. David smiled. He had heard stories about a StarFleet built android but to have the honor of having him on board was almost more than David could handle. He read all about the android Data on the USS Enterprise.
David sipped his tea.

After beaming aboard the USS Longsword LtCd Apollo follows his escorts to the observation lounge. On his way Apollo began to run throw his processing units on the schematics of the ship. Running over some of the changes for the security and weapons he wanted to bring to the Admirals attention. With his new emotion chip add after his last upgrade Apollo was feeling a new emotion that he couldn't describe. This voyage will be different than his last.

The turbo lift doors opened to show the bridge. David inwardly smiled as he heard the all too familiar bustling of activity, random clips of orders and questions, and the sounds the computers made as they were shown proper attention.
This bridge was a very close proximity to the bridge found on the Galaxy Class vessel. The saucer section of the Longsword was almost an exact duplicate.
Adah strolled down the side ramp and into the center aiming for his captain's chair when one of his officers chimed in, "Admiral, Lieutenant Commander Apollo has beamed aboard and is on his way to the observation lounge."
Adah's inward smile found it's way to his mouth. "Excellent!" David said, as he strolled up the other side of the bridge and through the sliding doors. Apollo and his entourage had not yet arrived so David took his seat at the head of the table.
[swoosh] The doors opened and Lt.Cmd. Apollo and his escorts breezed into the lounge. Fascinating, David thought. Such greatness in achievement. Admiral Adah could not believe his incredible good fortune.
He gestured to the seat to his right with a flourish of his hand and a smile, "Have a seat commander!" Looking to his escorts he said, "Dismissed".

[Apollo takes his seat] Admiral I'm aware you have been briefed on my previous duty's and that I have new upgrades that will make me more like Lt Cd Data. I hope will be able to help me adjust and learn about the human emotions I will experience. Also I would like to discuss some of the changes and modifications I would like to add to this ship if you don't mind sir. I have noticed in my study's of this ship and your self that you like to be at the front. If that's the case sir I think it would be a wise decision to modify and upgrade our weapons and shields. Some of these can be done during are voyage and others at select star base's [Apollo stops mid conversation]. Admiral I apologize for my behavior I know that I feel emotions know but they are hard for me to describe and I should have let you speak before I started discussing my ideas.

David couldn't hide his smile. Once again, that feeling of awesome filled his being.
"I cannot ever say enough how much I appreciate the views and experiences of my officers, Commander. This ship, like so many others, operate the greatest when her crew expresses their considerations."
He paused for a moment, folded his hands on the table and said, "First of all, welcome to the USS Longsword. I read your personnel file as well as your history from StarFleet research. I think most of StarFleet always wondered how long it would be before others of your kind were founded. Secondly, I am fully aware of Captain Picard's JAG experience when Data's rights were in question. I fully support his position that you and Data, both, are sentient life forms of your own design and have every right to be treated with the same honor and dignity as any other member of any crew in StarFleet. Third, this particular starship was taken out of moth balls, per my request, and a few of my own modifications have already been installed with a few more waiting in the wings for upgrading. I will be only too happy to allow your desired modifications to be implemented under two conditions. One: All of your modifications are considered and approved by the Chief Engineer, and Two: I see a detailed spec and am fully briefed on the ships abilities both before, and after the upgrade is accomplished. Understood?"
David studied the android's eyes to see if he could see what he would be able to read on any other person. There was definitely some serious consideration going on but the Admiral couldn't tell what exactly.

Apollo stared into his new commanding officers eyes wondering why is this man looking at me. Questions formulated in his neural net. "Does he notice emotions in me is he upset". Pushing the questions aside Apollo broke the silence. Understood sir. I will make sure that I forward my design plans and upgrades as soon as possible.
Apollo paused for moment. Sir do we allow pets on board? I mean Lt Cd Data suggested before I came aboard to get a pet to help me learn more about human emotions. If not I can understand I will look into other ways I can learn.
I look forward to meeting the chief engineer and formulating any plans for these upgrades that I will propose.
David tapped the desk lightly with one finger.
"You may certainly have a pet. Just be sure to run by me which animal you choose first to make certain it is feasible to have it on board."
David took a deep breath. He already loved this android. This was going to be a lot of fun.
"Do you have any questions or other comments Commander?".

[Apollo watched the Admiral for a moment studying his expressions wondering if he will be able to do the same.] [Apollo tried to smile but was not sure if he had it correct so he stopped and decided he would try infront of a mirror.]
" At the moment no Admiral but I will be sure to run them by you when I do. I'm ready for duty and ready for your commands."

"Excellent Commander! Follow me."
David stood up and headed towards the bridge. He stopped near the tactical station and gestured with his hand.
"This is Lieutenant Fenn, Commander. He has been standing in for tactical until your arrival. Just have a rundown with him on your station's current situation. Your quarters are on Deck 2, number 108."
David strolled down the ramp and into his ready room.
Time for tea.

Apollo stands up and follows the admiral to his station.
Lt Fenn what is the current status of the the tactical station?

"This station is secure Commander." Fenn said with a certainty. Lt. Fenn stepped off to one side to give the Commander a full view of the station.
"We are green across the board. Full compliment of torpedos. Shields, phasers and deflectors are fully operational. Engineering reports the new upgrades are installed and operating."
Fenn watched the android to ensure his report was received and acceptable.

Thank you I have a few questions about this station to help me better understand what I will be working with.
How long have you been at this station? I would like to know if you've seen problems with the power failure or any strange incidents I need to be made aware of. I'm currently trying to add a few more upgrades to our weapons and shields in the future.
Also are you apart of my security detail? If so I also have some ideas I want to implement with our section to help better security aboard or ship and away missions.

"I have been at this station for just over a month, Commander. I've been standing in as Chief of security pending your arrival."
Fenn shifted his weight and cast a quick glance around the bridge to check to see if anyone was paying attention. The bridge was pretty well cleared out at the moment, so Fenn relaxed a bit.
"I haven't seen any kind of serious malfunction, although twice I've registered a strange outsurge of power extending from the auxiliary fusion generator. Engineering reports they've analized the issue and are seeking to fix it. Beyond that, this ship has been fit as a fiddle even with the new upgrades."
"I am a member of ship security. One of twenty four members, to include yourself at the moment, sir."

Thank you Lt Fenn. I have a few ideas that I need to run by the ships chief of engineering and would like you to come along with me to discuss my intentions with our section. Also from this moment on you are second in command of the security and tactical section. We will form four shifts for this crew you will be in charge of the alpha crew. We need to leave one of our team here to monitor the tactical station as we head to engineering.
